Amani Center is a youth led community based organization that was founded in 2016 as a part of the Sentinel Project’s vision for a peaceful Tana River where all people live in dignity, equality and participate meaningfully in the society.
OBJECTIVES
- To stimulate, promote and encourage the development of entrepreneurship, which will result in the emergence of new, small businesses in Tana Delta.
- To attract a new generation of potential entrepreneurs to listen to Amani FM with interesting and relevant radio programmes that will encourage and help them gain insights into successful income generation.
- To encourage use of Aid for Trade training material to stimulate viable entrepreneurial ideas that will result in effective micro and small businesses in Tana Delta.
- To help non-literate entrepreneurs by using radio and providing an audio option for use by community groups.
- To monitor, evaluate and learn from the field trial, with a view to transferring to other parts of Kenya and the Swahili-speaking world.
